Brockton actor gets role in HBO comedy series ‘Insecure’

BROCKTON – A critically acclaimed HBO comedy series is adding an actor from Brockton to its cast.

Jean Elie, 29, is appearing in “Insecure,” which is about to enter it’s second season with a premiere episode on July 23.

“I had a great experience working on this show and I learned a lot,” said Elie, who moved from Brockton to Hollywood seven years ago to pursue acting. “Everyone is super cool, from studio executives, crew, and cast.”

Elie couldn’t share too many details about his role prior to the premiere, but the Brockton High School graduate said he is playing Ahmal Dee, the younger brother of “Insecure’s” main character, Issa.
